"I normally don't fall into the mindset of "well if you dress that way, then you are asking for it!", but if you walk into a room with your tits hanging out, a thong instead of pants, and stripper boots on then you kind of deserve to be oogled a bit.

Touched or harassed: hell no. But oogled, yea.

I mean, I spent 60 seconds and found 3 awesomecosplays that are epic looking but are not sexual in anyway and another that is the same character as one of Nigri's cosplays, but not all sexed up.

Its a choice that these female cosplayers have to make: do you cosplay a sexed up character that was designed in the first place to make a dude's mind nose dive into the gutter or do you choose an equally awesome cosplay that doesn't objectify your body in such a way that makes you look like an over-dressed stripper?

That's not to say you can't cosplay as a sexy character, but you don't need to take an unsexy character and turn it some sexed up 14 year old's confusing wet dream."

In my opinion, if you're going to dress like that and then turn around and yell at people for giving a glance at you, then why the hell would you wear stuff like that anyway?   ((i do like how you bolded "touched or harassed: hell no." so that people don't get the wrong idea c: ))

I wouldn't mind being oogled at if I were to dress in a skimpy outfit -- or cosplay.
I'm happy you put Touched or harassed: hell no in bold.

You deserve a fav and a comment =P

I like how you added that they don't deserve to be touched/harrased not asking to be abused.

Agreed then again when women dress that way tHEY want to get attention from men (or some cases women.)

or they like to dress that way because it makes them comfortable but you people might still look. it just happens. People tend to look if you wear a funny t-shirt too!

You know what? People are allowed to dress however the fuck they want. If you're ogling and they don't like it, they can sure as hell kick you. It's a sad day when being yourself gets you bullied.

Sexist? There are men who walk around dressed so that they show off all their body too. Girls aren't the only ones who do it.

Either way, people are allowed to show off what they want. If you don't like it, don't pay attention. People are allowed to be proud of their bodies.

Plus it's natural to observe people around you. Their faces, bodies, actions. If you ignored everyone, next thing you know someone could have stabbed you to death without you even realizing they were behind you.

how can you NOT look at people? Non-creepily, you are going to look at people if you walk outside and see them. You can't just wear a fucking blindfold around the city.

i never said don't look at people. If you actually took time to read my comment, you would've realized that I said don't pay attention; as in, don't focus on their clothing.

well, I pay attention to people's clothing all the time. 's natural. Especially when I get bored and stare in a random direction. Sometimes it gets awkward because I end up staring at someone for a while when I'm actually thinking of something completely unrelated to said person :XD:

Not really, women who dress like that often say that they for people not to stare, or yell at others for saying compliments to her, when she's showing 50% of her body in their outfit. I do agree sexual harassment is wrong in these cases, but if your walking around, showing off your breasts and legs, don't be angry or surprised when people stare. But I do know men do the same, but in society, it's more acceptable, so the stamp saying the same with men, wouldn't be much of a message, as a lot of people accept much more than a woman showing off her body.

Yeah and that is sexist of society. I am getting tired of having to cover myself when in reality men are just as sexualized by the media and women are just as attracted to men as men are attracted to women. Getting tired of this shit. And whether or not you are clothed you are still going to be looked at. If you are a woman period no matter what you are wearing exspect to be oogled at.

Exactly, if you dress like a slut, expect perverts to stare at you. Saying they can't is like a teacher turning on a move but expecting the kids not to watch it and work on algrbra instead.

But she does not deserved to be raped or touched, it may be hard, but you wouldn't eat a childs halloween candy, even if it was in front of you, because "you couldn't help it", would you?

I wouldn't say deserve it, but they should expect it. Anyone male or female should expect someone is going to oogle at them sexed up or not. It's just the way people are. Though what someone can do is learn to ignore it. If you feed into it people are just going to do it more. I mean I wear a long tee and pants that usually don't hug my body and I still get oogled at a lot. Some people can get donright creepy with it. Though I've learned to ignore it. When I ignore it those people usually go away away.

I see where you're getting at, I don't really like sluts but some of those cosplays were interesting but the less skimpy ones were the best IMO.

I love female characters who don't wear skimpy/slutty outfits.

Yeah, I love when female characters in games are dressed sensibly and are still awesome regardless. What I don't like, however, is how some badass female characters are portrayed simply for fanservice... *coughcoughSamusArancoughcough* I really wish they didn't put her in the Zero-Suit, that was a REALLY bad idea... :X

Samus Aran was withour her suit also in the first Metroid game (Justin Bailey code) so many gamers would be very disappointed if she can't remove her suit in other games also.
